A stake is a contiguous group of five to ten local Church congregations called wards. A stake generally consists of about 3,000 to 5,000 members and has multiple church buildings that house wards.
The Stake Center is usually the largest church building in the stake and is home to other wards, administrative offices for the Stake Presidency, High Council, and Stake Clerks. The Stake Center is also, typically where baptisms are performed in a Baptismal Font.
The Phoenix Arizona West Maricopa Stake is a little unique in that our Stake Offices and Stake meeting are held in a different building than our Baptismal Font.
Our Stake meetings typically occur at the Tolleson Building, such as the bi-annual Stake Conference, and various Stake leadership meetings. Our stake offices are also at this location.
Tolleson Building: 701 N 95th Ave, Tolleson, AZ 85353
Our Baptismal Font is located in the Campbell building. Only occasionally do we hold other meetings or activities at this building, as we share it with another stake.
Campbell Building (Baptismal Font): 8702 West Campbell Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85037
Stake Conference is held twice a year.
Once in spring and once in fall. No other meetings are generally held during these dates.
